Auto-Upload on iOS — Overview
Connect your wearable to NestEgg on iPhone. All iOS-supported devices sync through Apple Health — except Fitbit, which connects directly.
Auto-Upload on iOS
Set it up once — takes about 5 minutes. After that, your workouts appear in NestEgg automatically.
How It Works on iOS
On iPhone, NestEgg reads workout data from Apple Health. Your wearable’s companion app writes data to Apple Health, and NestEgg reads it from there. There are two connections to make:
Your Wearable → Companion App → Apple Health → NestEgg
Fitbit is the exception — it connects directly to NestEgg via secure sign-in, not through Apple Health.
How to Access Auto-Upload
Before selecting your device below, navigate to the auto-upload screen in the NestEgg app:
- Open the NestEgg app.
- Tap your profile icon (top right of the home screen).
- Select Workout Submission.
- Select Auto-Upload.
- You’ll see a list of supported wearable devices — choose yours below.
Supported Devices on iOS

|---|---|---|
| Apple Watch | No companion app needed | Direct → Apple Health |
| WHOOP | WHOOP | Via Apple Health |
| Garmin | Garmin Connect | Via Apple Health |
| Oura Ring | Oura | Via Apple Health |

Not on this list? Use Photo-Upload — it works with any heart-rate wearable.
Select Your Device
Choose your wearable for step-by-step setup instructions:
Connecting to Apple Health
Regardless of your device, the next step is always the same: grant NestEgg permission to read from Apple Health.
- Tap Connect to Apple Health in the NestEgg app.
- When the Apple Health permission screen appears, tap Turn On All.
- Check that all toggles are green — Heart Rate, Resting Heart Rate, and Workouts.
- Tap Allow.
After that, the remaining steps are device-specific — follow the guide for your wearable.
Troubleshooting
Workouts aren’t appearing in NestEgg.
- Open your wearable’s companion app and confirm you have at least one recent workout.
- In Apple Health → Sharing → Apps, check that both your wearable app AND NestEgg have sharing turned ON.
- In NestEgg → Workouts, pull down to refresh.
- Apple Health sometimes takes a minute or two to pass data through.
- Still nothing? Restart your iPhone — this clears most background sync issues.

Note on Multiple Devices
If you have more than one device connected to Apple Health (e.g. Garmin and Oura), workouts may appear duplicated in NestEgg. To avoid this, only connect one device to Apple Health at a time. See Duplicate Workouts.
