Auto-Upload on Android — Overview

Connect your wearable to NestEgg on Android. Most devices sync through Google Health Connect — except Fitbit, which connects directly.

Auto-Upload on Android

Set it up once — takes about 5 minutes. After that, your workouts appear in NestEgg automatically.

How It Works on Android

On Android, NestEgg reads workout data from Google Health Connect. Your wearable’s companion app writes data to Health Connect, and NestEgg reads it from there:

Your Wearable → Companion App → Health Connect → NestEgg

Fitbit is the exception — it connects directly to NestEgg via secure sign-in, not through Health Connect.

How to Access Auto-Upload

Before selecting your device below, navigate to the auto-upload screen in the NestEgg app:

  1. Open the NestEgg app.
  2. Tap your profile icon (top right of the home screen).
  3. Select Workout Submission.
  4. Select Auto-Upload.
  5. You’ll see a list of supported wearable devices — choose yours below.

Connecting to Health Connect

Regardless of your device, the next step is always the same: grant NestEgg permission to read from Health Connect.

  1. Tap Connect to Health Connect in the NestEgg app.
  2. When the Health Connect permission screen appears, tap Allow all.
  3. Check that all toggles are blue (ON) — Exercise and Heart Rate.
  4. Tap Allow.
  5. Tap Allow again for background access.

After that, the remaining steps are device-specific — follow the guide for your wearable.

Health Connect Not Installed?

Health Connect is built into Android 14+. On older Android versions, install Health Connect from the Google Play Store before starting setup.

Troubleshooting

Workouts aren’t appearing in NestEgg.

  1. Open your wearable’s companion app and confirm you have at least one recent workout.
  2. In Health Connect → App permissions, check that both your wearable app AND NestEgg Health have permissions turned ON.
  3. In NestEgg → Workouts, pull down to refresh.
  4. Health Connect sometimes takes a minute or two to sync.
  5. Still nothing? Restart your phone — this clears most background sync issues.
