The App Crashed or Is Acting Strangely
App crashing, freezing, showing blank screens, or behaving oddly? Try these steps before contacting support.
The App Crashed or Is Acting Strangely
Try These First (In Order)
1. Force-quit and reopen the app
Swipe NestEgg completely closed (don’t just press the home button) and reopen it. This clears most temporary glitches.
iOS: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to see open apps, find NestEgg, swipe it up to close.
Android: Tap the Recent Apps button, find NestEgg, swipe it away.
2. Check for an update
Many crashes and display issues are fixed in the latest app version. Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), search for NestEgg Health, and update if one is available.
NestEgg occasionally releases force updates for critical fixes — if you’re on an older version, the app may not function correctly until you update.
3. Restart your phone
A full phone restart clears memory, background processes, and stale data that can cause apps to behave oddly.
4. Check your internet connection
Some screens require a live connection to load. A blank screen or infinite spinner often means no connectivity rather than a crash. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to test.
5. Delete and reinstall the app
If nothing else works, delete NestEgg and reinstall from the App Store or Google Play. Your account data is stored in the cloud — reinstalling won’t lose your workouts, score, or profile.
After reinstalling, log back in with the same method you used originally (Apple/Google/Microsoft/email).
Specific Issues
Blank screen after login
Usually a connectivity problem. Check your internet connection and force-quit/reopen.
Feed not loading or showing an error
Pull down to refresh. If the feed has been down for more than a few minutes, it may be a server issue — check back in 10 minutes. Also update the app if you haven’t recently.
Profile page showing wrong data
This was a known bug fixed in a prior release. Update the app and the profile data should display correctly after the update.
Followers or following page crashes
Also fixed in a prior release. Update the app.
Workout uploaded but shows in the wrong place
Log out and log back in — this refreshes the local data cache.
How to Report a Bug
If the app is consistently crashing in a specific place and the steps above don’t help, please report it so it can be fixed.
Send to: support@nestegghealth.com
Include:
- What you were doing when the crash happened
- Your device model (e.g. iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy S24)
- Your OS version (iOS 18.2, Android 15, etc.)
- Your NestEgg app version (Settings → About, or check the App Store listing)
- A screenshot of any error message
The more specific the report, the faster it can be diagnosed and fixed.
Common Questions
The app worked yesterday but crashes today without me doing anything. This sometimes happens after a system update (iOS or Android) changes something the app depends on. Check for a NestEgg app update — a compatibility fix is usually released quickly.
I can’t reach the settings screen to find the app version. Check the App Store or Google Play — the version number is listed on NestEgg’s app page under the rating.
