The Feed — What You'll See and How to Post
Your Nest's social hub. Understand the different feed tabs, what each card means, and how to post your own updates.
The Feed
The Feed is the social layer of NestEgg — where your Nest comes alive between workouts. It’s part scoreboard, part group chat, part celebration wall.
Feed Tabs
The Feed has three tabs:
| Tab | What you see |
|---|---|
| Nest | Everything from your 5-person Nest — workouts, ProofShots, posts, and automated cards |
| Followed | Updates from any Egg you follow outside your Nest |
| You | Your own posts and workout cards |
Most Eggs spend the majority of their time in the Nest tab. That’s where the accountability and banter happen.
Automated Feed Cards
NestEgg generates cards automatically — you don’t need to do anything for these to appear.
| Card Type | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Workout logged | Every time an Egg in your Nest uploads a workout |
| Level promotion | When an Egg moves up a level |
| Weekly target hit | When an Egg hits 100% of their weekly target |
| Weekly winner | End of each week — top-scoring Nest in the Flock |
| Streak achievement | Consecutive weeks hitting target |
| Daily summary | End-of-day activity recap |
| Weekly summary | End-of-week performance recap |
| Workout of the Day | Admin-posted content from your challenge organizer |
How to Post
You can post text, photos, or a ProofShot directly from the Feed.
- Tap the + button at the bottom of the Feed screen
- Add a photo (optional) and a caption
- Tap Post
Your post appears in the Nest feed for all your Nestmates to see.
ProofShot posts are different — they attach directly to a specific workout and earn you a +10% EP bonus. See ProofShot Boost for the full flow.
Feed Etiquette
The Feed works best when it feels like a group chat, not a broadcast channel.
What lands well:
- Workout photos — sweaty selfies, running shoes, yoga mat, gym equipment
- Short encouraging comments on Nestmates’ posts
- Honest updates — “tough week but got one session in”
- Light banter
What doesn’t land well:
- Silence — showing up in the feed is half the battle
- Fitness advice nobody asked for
- Calling out a Nestmate publicly for missing a week
The tone is set by the Nest Leader. Keep it light, keep it human.
Reporting a Post
If you see content that feels inappropriate, tap the three dots (···) on any post and select Report. The report goes to your challenge administrator.
Common Questions
Why can’t I see my Nestmates’ workouts? Make sure you’re on the Nest tab, not Followed or You. If your Nest was only recently formed, there may not be any activity yet.
Can people outside my Nest see my posts? By default, your posts are visible to anyone in the Flock who follows you. If you want to control this, adjust your privacy settings in your profile. See Your Profile and Privacy Settings.
I posted a ProofShot but didn’t get the +10% bonus. The ProofShot must be posted within 60 minutes of uploading the workout. If the window has passed, the boost won’t apply. See ProofShot Boost.
