My Workout Isn't Showing Up
Completed a workout but it's not in NestEgg? Here's how to diagnose and fix sync issues.
Don’t panic — sync delays are normal
Most auto-synced workouts appear in NestEgg within a few minutes, but sometimes it takes longer. Here’s a checklist to work through before reaching out to support.
Step 1: Check your wearable’s own app
Open your wearable’s companion app (Garmin Connect, Fitbit, WHOOP, etc.) and confirm the workout appears there with HR data. If it’s not in your wearable’s app yet, the issue is between your device and its app — not NestEgg.
Fix: Make sure your wearable is synced to your phone. Open the wearable’s app, pull down to refresh, and wait for the workout to appear.
Step 2: Check Apple Health or Google Health Connect
The data flows like this:
Wearable → Wearable App → Apple Health / Health Connect → NestEgg
If the workout is in your wearable’s app but not in NestEgg, the break is likely in the middle step. Check that the workout appears in Apple Health or Google Health Connect:
On iPhone:
- Open the Health app
- Tap Browse → Activity → Workouts
- Look for your workout with heart rate data attached
On Android:
- Open Health Connect (in phone Settings → Apps → Health Connect)
- Check recent data for your workout
If the workout isn’t there, your wearable’s app may not have permission to write to the health platform. Check the wearable app’s settings.
Step 3: Check NestEgg permissions
NestEgg needs permission to read workout data from your health platform.
On iPhone:
- Go to Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → NestEgg
- Make sure workout and heart rate data access is enabled
On Android:
- Go to Settings → Apps → Health Connect → App Permissions → NestEgg
- Make sure read access is granted for workouts and heart rate
Step 4: Force a sync
Sometimes a nudge helps:
- Open the NestEgg app
- Go to the Workouts tab
- Pull down to refresh
- Wait 30 seconds
If the workout still doesn’t appear, try closing and reopening the NestEgg app.
Step 5: Use Photo-Upload as a backup
If auto-sync isn’t cooperating, you can always upload the workout manually:
- Take a screenshot of the workout in your wearable’s app (showing duration and average HR)
- Open NestEgg → Workouts tab → Add Workout
- Upload the screenshot
- Review the extracted data and submit
This works for any wearable and guarantees your EP are captured.
Common causes
| Cause | What happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Wearable hasn’t synced to phone | Data hasn’t left the device yet | Open wearable app, pull to refresh |
| Health platform permissions missing | NestEgg can’t read the data | Re-enable permissions (see Step 3) |
| Multiple devices syncing | Conflicting data can block HR attachment | Use only one wearable for workout sync |
| Background app refresh disabled | NestEgg can’t check for new data | Enable background refresh for NestEgg in phone Settings |
| Old workout (> 7 days) | Auto-sync may not pick up very old workouts | Use Photo-Upload for older workouts |
